The origins of EldurApi lie in Peter De Clercq's passion for food and fire, a love that began at a young age and blossomed when he co-founded restaurant Elckerlijc in 1996, together with another avid barbecue enthusiast. After writing the first Dutch-language book on barbecuing, "Eigentijds Barbecuen" (Contemporary Barbecue), and winning the World Barbecue Championship in Jamaica, Peter realized he wanted to help others transform from home cooks to true master chefs.
