At BBQ Valley, we believe it is important to handle personal data with care. In this privacy policy, we explain which personal data BBQ Valley BV processes, why we process this data, with whom data may be shared, how long we retain it, and what rights you have.

This privacy policy applies to our website, webshop, store, workshops, customer service, and other services.

2. Which personal data do we process?

The personal data we process depends on how you use BBQ Valley. We may process the following data, among others:

4. On what grounds do we process personal data?

Execution of an agreement

We process personal data when this is necessary to perform an agreement with you. For example, when you order a product, book a workshop, or arrange delivery and installation with us.

Legal obligation

We are required to process or retain some data because we are legally obliged to do so, for example for our financial administration.

Legitimate interest

In certain situations, we process personal data because BBQ Valley has a legitimate interest in doing so. This may apply, for example, to security, fraud prevention, certain forms of customer service, and improving our business operations, insofar as your privacy interests do not outweigh these.

5. Orders and customer data

When you place an order, we process the data necessary to fulfill the order. This may include, among other things:

ordered products;
payment status;

warranty and service.

This data is processed in our webshop and customer system Corenio, among others.

We use this data to execute the agreement with you, to provide customer service, and to comply with our legal administrative obligations.

6. Payments

For online payments, BBQ Valley uses Mollie, among others.

Depending on the chosen payment method, personal data may be processed by Mollie and by the relevant bank, credit card company, or payment service.

BBQ Valley receives the data necessary to determine whether a payment has been successfully processed and to process the order administratively.

In our physical store, payments are processed via CCV, among others.

In addition, the privacy conditions of the relevant service provider may apply to the processing of personal data by payment providers.

7. Delivery and assembly

When we arrange for an order to be delivered, personal data may be shared with parties necessary to deliver the order to you.

BBQ Valley makes use of, among other things:

DHL;
PostNL.

This may include, for example, your name, delivery address, email address, and telephone number when this information is required for delivery or for communication regarding the delivery.

When BBQ Valley delivers or installs a product itself, we use the personal data necessary to schedule the appointment and carry out the delivery or installation.

8. Customer Service and WhatsApp

When you contact us by telephone, email, via our website, or via WhatsApp, we process the data that you provide to us yourself.

We use this data to answer your question, provide advice, process an order, or resolve a problem.

For communication via WhatsApp, we use the services of WhatsApp. When using this service, WhatsApp also processes certain personal data itself in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Preferably do not send personal data via WhatsApp that is not necessary to answer your question.

9. Workshops and events

When you register for a workshop, masterclass, or other event, we process personal data necessary to organize the reservation and participation.

This may include, among other things:

email address;
phone number;
number of participants;
payment details;
selected workshop or event;
date of participation.

If you provide us with dietary requirements, allergies, or other relevant details yourself, we will use this information solely to the extent necessary to take them into account during the workshop.

Because information regarding allergies or other health data may contain special personal data, we ask you to provide only information that is actually necessary.

10. Photos and videos during workshops and events

Photos and videos may be taken during workshops, demonstrations, and events.

When individuals are recognizably depicted and the material is used for, for example, our website, social media, newsletters, or other marketing communications, we request permission where necessary.

Once you have given consent, you can withdraw it for future use by contacting us via info@bbqvalley.nl .

The withdrawal of consent has no retroactive effect for processing that took place before the consent was withdrawn.

11. Newsletter

BBQ Valley uses Mailchimp to send newsletters.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we process, among other things, your email address and, if provided, your name and newsletter preferences.

We use this data to send you news, offers, product information, inspiration, and information about workshops and events, among other things.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter.

Mailchimp may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. When this occurs, appropriate safeguards are used in accordance with privacy legislation.

12. Website, cookies and Google Analytics

BBQ Valley uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the website and webshop function properly and to gain insight into their usage.

We use Google Analytics 4, among others. This allows us to gain insight into, for example:

the number of visitors to our website;
visited pages;
use of our webshop;
traffic sources;
technical characteristics of devices and browsers;
performance of pages and sections of the website.

Depending on the configuration of these services, data considered to be personal data may be processed.

Cookies that are necessary for the functioning of the website may be used without prior consent, to the extent permitted by law.

When consent is required for analytical, marketing, or tracking cookies, they will only be placed after you have given your consent.

13. Google Ads and online advertisements

BBQ Valley uses Google Ads and conversion tracking.

With this, we can measure, for example:

how many visitors arrive at our website via advertisements.

To the extent that tracking cookies or similar techniques are used for this purpose, they are only placed after consent has been given where such consent is legally required.

BBQ Valley currently does not use Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Microsoft Advertising/Bing tracking, or Pinterest tracking.

14. Camera surveillance in the store and showroom

Camera surveillance is used in and around the BBQ Valley store and showroom.

The camera surveillance has, among other things, the objective of:

the security of visitors and employees;
the protection of our store, showroom, and property;
preventing and investigating theft, vandalism, and other incidents.

BBQ Valley bases the camera surveillance on its legitimate interest in protecting persons and property.

At locations where camera surveillance takes place, this is made known.

Camera footage is not retained for longer than necessary for the security purpose. If an incident is captured on footage, the relevant footage may be retained for longer as long as is necessary for, for example, an investigation, an insurance claim, or legal proceedings.

15. With whom do we share personal data?

BBQ Valley does not sell personal data to third parties.

We only share personal data when this is necessary for our services, business operations, or when we are legally required to do so.

We may share personal data with, among others:

Corenio for our webshop and customer administration;
Mollie for online payments;
CCV for payments in our physical store;
DHL and PostNL for delivery;
Mailchimp for newsletters;
Google for Analytics, Google Ads and conversion measurement;
WhatsApp for communication with customers via WhatsApp;
hosting, IT and security suppliers;
administrative and financial service providers;
government agencies when we are legally required to provide personal data.

Agreements regarding privacy and security are made with parties that process personal data on behalf of BBQ Valley, where required.

16. Transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area

Some service providers used by BBQ Valley are established outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or may process personal data outside the EEA.

This may apply, for example, to services from international technology companies such as Google and Mailchimp.

When personal data is processed outside the EEA, we ensure that there is a valid legal basis and appropriate safeguards for this. This may occur, for example, on the basis of:

17. How long do we retain personal data?

BBQ Valley does not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless we are legally required to retain the data longer.

The exact retention period varies by type of personal data and the purpose for which it is used.

Data can, for example, be retained longer when necessary:

for our financial administration;
for warranty and service;
for the handling of a complaint or dispute;
in support of an agreement;

We retain newsletter data until you unsubscribe or until there is another reason to delete it earlier.

Camera footage is not retained longer than necessary for the security purpose, unless an incident gives rise to the retention of specific footage for a longer period.

You can easily unsubscribe from our email newsletter via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter.

If you object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing, we will stop using your personal data for that purpose.
