The 18 cm Forged Katai Santoku knife is the Japanese version of the chef's knife. The word 'santoku' means 'three virtues', referring to the three cutting functions the knife can perform: slicing, chopping and mincing. This diversity makes it an all-rounder in the kitchen. Unlike most knife series, the Forged Katai knives are made from Japanese VG10 steel with a hardness level of 60 Rockwell. All Forged Katai knives are forged by hand in 5 layers, have a blade thickness of 2 mm and a cutting angle of 18 degrees. Packaged in a luxurious box. We offer a 10-year warranty. Also available in a 14 cm version.

The Monolith Avantgarde .66 comes standard with a chip feeder set, split charcoal basket, deflector stones, drip trays, grate lifter, ash shovel, and the Smart Grid System with split grill grates.

A cast iron grate retains heat well and produces beautiful grill marks, but it does require maintenance. Preferably clean the grate while it is still warm with a suitable brush. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or dishwashing liquid, as this can damage the protective coating.

After cleaning, lightly rub the grate with heat-resistant oil. If rust forms, brush it away and season the grate again. This keeps the cast iron better protected and builds up a natural non-stick coating.

Clean a Monolith plancha while it is still warm. Scrape off baking residue and, if necessary, use a little hot water to remove stubborn residue. Preferably do not use dishwashing liquid, as this can damage the built-up protective layer.

Dry the plancha thoroughly and then rub it thinly with oil. Regular use creates a natural cooking surface, which prevents food from sticking as easily and keeps the plancha better protected against rust.
