Use Braaimaster Sekelbos wood in your braai or barbecue for the best results. Place the logs in your fire pit or on the coals and light them. Let the wood burn until you have a good, hot base of charcoal. Then place your grill and start grilling. It is ideal for preparing various meat dishes, fish and vegetables.

Features Sekelbos:

  • Naturally dried in the African sun. < 3% moisture
  • Hardly any smoke
  • Wonderful scent
  • Nice and handy size
  • Very clean and beautiful appearance
  • Burns extremely long
  • Big coals, more heat
  • Extremely hard wood
  • 100% Natural
  • Sustainably harvested
  • Supports the wildlife and local people of Namibia's savannahs

Sekelbos harvesting takes place in the savannahs of Namibia, where this invasive (non-native) shrub species has become a major problem. The originally grassy savannahs dry out and become overgrown, leaving no room for wildlife to graze. By removing these shrubs, the savannah regains its original function in the ecosystem of Namibia. The animals get the space they need again and the local population benefits from the employment that harvesting brings. Braaimaster works directly with the farmers in Namibia who participate in these projects.

The Monolith Avantgarde .66 comes standard with a chip feeder set, split charcoal basket, deflector stones, drip trays, grate lifter, ash shovel, and the Smart Grid System with split grill grates.

A cast iron grate retains heat well and produces beautiful grill marks, but it does require maintenance. Preferably clean the grate while it is still warm with a suitable brush. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or dishwashing liquid, as this can damage the protective coating.

After cleaning, lightly rub the grate with heat-resistant oil. If rust forms, brush it away and season the grate again. This keeps the cast iron better protected and builds up a natural non-stick coating.

Clean a Monolith plancha while it is still warm. Scrape off baking residue and, if necessary, use a little hot water to remove stubborn residue. Preferably do not use dishwashing liquid, as this can damage the built-up protective layer.

Dry the plancha thoroughly and then rub it thinly with oil. Regular use creates a natural cooking surface, which prevents food from sticking as easily and keeps the plancha better protected against rust.
