The Gozney Dome Gen 2 is a versatile pizza oven and outdoor oven for those who want more than just to bake pizza. Choose between propane, wood, or charcoal and prepare one pizza up to 16 inches, two smaller pizzas, or complete dishes. View the Dome Gen 2 in Off Black, Bone, and as a complete set at BBQ Valley Venlo.
The Gozney Dome Gen 2 is intended for those looking for a pizza oven who also want to cook outdoors more extensively. While the compact Gozney models are primarily focused on baking pizza with gas, the Dome Gen 2 gives you the choice between propane, wood, and charcoal .
This allows you to use the oven for quick pizzas at high temperatures, but also for bread, meat, fish, vegetables, and cast iron preparations. The spacious oven chamber accommodates one pizza up to 16 inches (approximately 40 cm) or two 10-inch pizzas.
Do you want to compare all current models first? Then check out our Gozney pizza oven selection guide .
The Dome Gen 2 is particularly interesting if you are looking for more freedom than with a traditional gas-fired pizza oven. You can choose the convenience of gas on a weekday evening and consciously cook with wood or charcoal on another day.
You use those different fuels separately. Gas and wood or charcoal must not be used at the same time.
Moreover, the current Dome Gen 2 is over 40% larger than the original first-generation Dome. As a result, you have more space around your preparation and can bake two smaller pizzas at the same time or, for example, place a pan next to other ingredients in the oven.
The Dome Gen 2 reaches temperatures around 500 °C and features a removable 30 mm thick cordierite stone . That thick stone can store a lot of heat and forms the hot baking surface on which your pizza is baked.
For a good pizza, the oven temperature is not the only important factor. The stone must be sufficiently heated before you place the pizza on it. The integrated temperature sensor helps you monitor both the temperature inside the oven and that of the baking floor.

An important difference between the Gozney Dome Gen 2 and models such as the Arc and Arc XL is the choice of fuel.
Propane is practical when you want to get started quickly and easily maintain control over the flame. You turn on the burner, set the power, and can regulate the temperature well.
Wood gives you a more direct fire experience. You build the fire yourself and determine how the heat moves through the oven with the amount of wood and the position of the fire.
Charcoal is a good option if you want to use a longer, even heat source. Gozney recommends good quality natural charcoal for this purpose.
Which fuel you choose therefore depends mainly on what you are going to make and how much attention you want to devote to the fire.
The extra space and heat storage make the Dome Gen 2 suitable for more than just pizza. For example, you can bake bread, roast vegetables, prepare meat or fish, and work with suitable cast iron cookware.
This places the Dome Gen 2 closer to a complete outdoor oven than to a compact pizza oven. Furthermore, if you already use a kamado barbecue or ceramic BBQ , both appliances complement each other well. A kamado excels at grilling, smoking, and slow cooking, while the Dome offers plenty of space for cooking on a hot stone and cooking with a rolling flame.
The Gozney Dome Gen 2 is approximately 82.6 cm wide, 65.2 cm deep, and 98.6 cm high, including the chimney . The oven weighs approximately 62 kg .
That weight is important to take into account beforehand. This is not a pizza oven that you can easily store away after every session. Therefore, think carefully in advance about where you want to use it and whether you want to place it on a solid surface or on a wheeled base.
If you want a complete and mobile setup, you can combine the Dome with the Gozney Dome Gen 2.0 and Dome XL base .
The base raises the oven to a comfortable working height and features side shelves for extra workspace. Thanks to the swivel casters, you can move the entire setup more easily and then secure it securely again.
Additionally, a complete Gozney Dome Gen 2.0 set is available at BBQ Valley. This combines the Dome Gen 2 Bone with the base, a matching protective cover, door, and casing. This immediately provides you with a more extensive fixed outdoor cooking setup.
The Gozney Dome Gen 2 is available at BBQ Valley in Off Black and Bone .
Technically, both versions are identical. Therefore, you mainly choose the color that best matches your patio, outdoor kitchen, and other equipment. Off Black has a dark appearance, while Bone has a lighter finish.
If you are hesitating between the Dome Gen 2 and the Gozney Arc XL , the way you want to cook is the deciding factor.
The Arc XL is a 16-inch gas-fired pizza oven. It is more compact, lighter, and very practical when baking pizza is your main goal. The Dome Gen 2 is larger and heavier, but gives you more cooking space and the choice of gas, wood, and charcoal.
If you mainly want to bake pizza regularly with the convenience of gas, the Arc XL is often sufficient. If, in addition to pizza, you also want to cook more extensively with various fuels, the Dome Gen 2 clearly offers more possibilities.
The standard Dome Gen 2 accommodates one pizza up to 16 inches or two 10-inch pizzas. The Dome XL Gen 2 is significantly larger and accommodates one pizza up to 18 inches or three 10-inch pizzas.
The Dome Gen 2 is therefore the more practical size for many home cooks. You get the versatility of gas, wood, and charcoal without immediately needing the space and weight of the XL. If you often cook for larger groups or want maximum space in the oven, the Dome XL Gen 2 is more interesting.
Which accessories you need depends on how you plan to use the oven. For pizza, a good pizza peel, turntable, and infrared thermometer are practical. If you want a permanent setup, the Dome Gen 2 base and a matching protective cover are logical additions.
BBQ Valley also has a matching Dome Gen 2 door, casing, and Neo Arch in the Gozney range, among other items. When checking accessories, always verify that they are specifically compatible with the current Dome Gen 2.

An oven at 500°C requires dough suitable for high-temperature baking. Not only the ingredients, but especially the ratio, fermentation time, and processing determine how the base and crust ultimately bake.
