The Gozney Dome Gen 2 Bone combines the versatility of the current Dome Gen 2 with a light Bone finish. This spacious outdoor oven is intended for those who not only want to bake pizza, but also want to cook more extensively outdoors using propane, wood, or charcoal.
The oven accommodates one pizza up to 16 inches (approximately 40 cm) or two 10-inch pizzas. Thanks to the large oven cavity, 30 mm thick cordierite stone, and strong heat retention, you can also use the Dome Gen 2 for bread, vegetables, meat, fish, and cooking in suitable cast iron cookware.

The Bone version is distinguished by its light finish. Technically, this version is identical to the Off Black version. You get the same oven cavity, the same fuel options, the same pizza stone, and the same temperature control.
The choice of color is therefore primarily a matter of appearance. Bone pairs well with a lighter outdoor kitchen or patio setup and forms a clear contrast with dark kamados and other outdoor equipment.
If you prefer a dark version, check out the Gozney Dome Gen 2 Off Black .
The Dome Gen 2 gives you a choice of three fuels. Propane is practical when you want to start quickly and easily control the flame. With wood , you work with fire yourself and determine how the heat moves through the oven by adjusting the size and position of the fire. Charcoal is suitable when you want to cook for a longer period with a steady heat source.
Always use these fuels separately. Gas must not be used simultaneously with wood or charcoal, and the gas burner must not be used to light wood.
The Gozney Dome Gen 2 accommodates one pizza up to 16 inches , approximately 40 cm. You can also place two 10-inch pizzas in the oven at the same time.
Furthermore, the spacious baking surface provides extra room to maneuver around the pizza. This makes it easier to adjust the position relative to the flame and gives you more space to rotate the pizza while baking.
The Dome Gen 2 features a removable 30 mm thick cordierite stone . This thick cooking surface can store and retain a lot of heat.
This is especially convenient when baking multiple pizzas in a row. Each pizza draws heat from the stone. A well-heated baking surface helps to transfer sufficient heat to the base for the next pizza as well.
Therefore, before baking, check not only the temperature in the oven but also the temperature of the stone. You can read more about this in our common mistakes at Gozney .
The Gozney Dome Gen 2 can reach temperatures of around 500°C . Depending on fuel and conditions, allow approximately 30 to 40 minutes to bring the oven and the thick pizza stone up to temperature.
The digital temperature display helps you monitor both the temperature inside the oven and the baking floor. The Dome Gen 2 also supports temperature probes, which is handy for preparations other than pizza.
The Dome Gen 2 Bone is suitable for those seeking a spacious pizza oven who also want to use it for other forms of outdoor cooking. The combination of different fuels, a thick cooking surface, and ample oven space offers more possibilities than a compact gas-fired pizza oven.
If you mainly bake pizza and want a more compact model that runs solely on gas, the Gozney Arc XL is a logical alternative. However, if you want even more capacity, the Dome XL Gen 2 is more interesting.
The Dome Gen 2 is suitable for much more than baking pizza. For example, you can bake bread, roast vegetables, and prepare meat or fish in it. With suitable cast iron cookware, you can use the oven for an even wider range of purposes.
If you also use a kamado barbecue or ceramic BBQ , both appliances complement each other well. A kamado excels at grilling, smoking, and slow cooking, while the Dome offers additional possibilities with a hot stone cooking surface and a spacious open oven chamber.
The Gozney Dome Gen 2 is approximately 82.6 cm wide, 65.2 cm deep, and 98.6 cm high, including the chimney . The oven weighs approximately 62 kg .
Due to this weight, a sturdy and stable location is important. Ensure there is sufficient space around the oven beforehand and decide whether you want to place it on a fixed outdoor kitchen or on the matching base.
For a mobile setup, you can combine the oven with the Gozney Dome Gen 2 and Dome XL base .
The base raises the oven to a comfortable working height, provides extra workspace around the oven, and makes moving it easier. This is a practical addition, especially for a 62 kg oven.
For baking pizza, a suitable pizza peel, turntable, and infrared thermometer are particularly useful. With the thermometer, you can quickly check whether different parts of the 30 mm thick baking surface are sufficiently hot.
Additionally, a suitable protective cover is advisable when the oven is placed outdoors. When checking specific Dome accessories, always verify that they are intended for the current Dome Gen 2 and not for an earlier generation.
You can find more practical explanations in our Gozney tips & tricks .
A good pizza doesn't just start with the oven. Fermentation, hydration, and the way you work the dough also determine how the base and crust ultimately bake.

At high temperatures, a lot of baked-on residue and soot buildup on the inside can burn off spontaneously. Let the oven cool down completely and carefully remove any remaining loose residue with a soft brush.
Clean the light Bone exterior with warm soapy water and a soft, non-abrasive cloth. For more stubborn dirt, you can use a non-corrosive and bleach-free cleaner. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
Protect the oven from rain when not in use for extended periods, and place a protective cover only when the Dome has completely cooled down.
For private use, a standard 2-year manufacturer's warranty applies. If you register the Dome Gen 2 with Gozney within 60 days of purchase, this can be extended to a limited warranty of up to 5 years.
Different warranty periods apply to certain parts, including the pizza stone and electronic components. Therefore, keep the proof of purchase and register the oven in a timely manner after purchase.
